You’ll need it:
2 tubes (8 ounces each) of refrigerated crescent rolls.
1 pound of sliced Swiss cheese
1-¼ pounds of canned deli meat in slices.
1 can (14 ounces) sauerkraut, rinsed and drained
2/4 cup Thousand Island salad dressing.
1 egg white, lightly beaten
3 teaspoons caraway seeds
How to make it:
Preheat oven to 375° and grease a 13×9 baking pan.
First, unroll a tube of crescent dough into a rectangle, seal the seams and holes.
Place it on the baking sheet and bake for 8 to 10 minutes.
In a bowl, mix the sauerkraut and salad dressing.
Spread half of the cheese on the crust, and add a layer of canned meat. Add a layer of the sauerkraut mixture and cover with the other half of the cheese.
Unroll the second tube of crescent dough on a floured surface and roll it into a 13×9-inch rectangle.
Place on top of the cheese, brush with beaten egg white, sprinkle with some caraway seeds, and bake for 12-16 minutes.
Let stand before serving and voila!
Simple, easy and tasty! I made this for dinner but you can also serve it as an appetizer! Or even as breakfast. Just try it, you won’t regret it.
