1 package (1/4 ounce) of active dry yeast
2-1/4 cups of warm water (110° to 115°)
3 tablespoons of sugar
1 tablespoon of salt
2 tablespoons of canola oil
6-1/4 to 6-3/4 cups of all-purpose flour
HOW TO DO IT:
In a large bowl, dissolve the yeast in hot water. Add the sugar, salt, oil and 3 cups of flour. Beat until smooth. Add the rest of the flour to form a soft dough.
Turn over on a floured surface; knead until smooth and elastic, about 8-10 minutes. Place it in a greased bowl, turning it over once to grease the top. Cover and let it rise in a warm place until it doubles, about an hour and a half.
Beat the dough down. Place it on a slightly floured surface; divide the dough in half. Shape each into a loaf of bread. Place in two 9 x 5-inch greased bread pans. Cover and let rise until doubled, about 30-45 minutes.
Bake at 375° for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown and bread sounds hollow when tapped. Remove from molds to wire racks to cool.
