SMOTHERED HAMBURGER STEAK

Hamburger steak with onions and sauce “This is one of the best recipes I’ve ever made on this site! It was so good that no changes were needed to make it enjoyable for the family”.

INGREDIENTS :

2 large eggs
2 tablespoons of chopped onion
1 tablespoon of beef
½ teaspoon black pepper
3 slices of white bread
2 pounds of lean ground meat
1 can of condensed cream of mushroom soup
1 can of water (10.75 ounces)
1 pinch of Worcestershire sauce

INSTRUCTIONS :

Step 1: Beat the eggs, onion, meat base and pepper in a bowl. Break the bread into large pieces, and place them in the bowl. Let the bread soak for a few seconds and add the ground meat. Mix the meat with the egg and bread mixture, and form 8 hamburgers.
Step 2: Heat a large, heavy skillet over medium-high heat, and fry the burgers until golden brown and the meat is no longer pink in the center, about 8 minutes on each side. Set the burgers aside.
Step 3: Remove excess fat from pan and whisk mushroom soup, water and Worcestershire sauce into pan until smooth. Return the burgers to the pan, spoon the sauce over them and bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Reduce heat to low and cook until sauce thickens and flavors blend, about 20 minutes.
