YODER’S AMISH CHOCOLATE PIE

Yoder’s Amish Chocolate Cake is soft, silky and practically melts in your mouth. Each slice takes you straight to Grandma’s kitchen. This cake is satisfying without being too rich. We love to cover it with chunks of whipped cream and sprinkle it with chocolate shavings. Be sure to try my recipe for Amish Cake Crust You’ll Never Miss too!

Ingredients

1 cup of sugar
2 1/2 tablespoons of flour
2 tablespoons of cocoa
1 1/2 cups of milk
2 egg yolks
1 teaspoon of vanilla
3 tablespoons of butter, melted
A 19 inch baked pie crust, try my Amish pie crust recipe never fails up!
Whipped cream
Chocolate shavings

Instructions

In a large pan, beat the sugar, flour and cocoa.
In a medium bowl, beat the milk, yolks and vanilla. Pour into the gravy boat.
Turn the heat to medium and add the butter. Bring to a boil and let it thicken.
Pour it into the crust of the baked cake and smooth the top. Cool at room temperature for 2 hours and refrigerate for another 2 hours.
Cover with whipped cream and chocolate shavings.
