This is one of my favorite desserts. Be sure to refrigerate it overnight so that all the ingredients blend together.
With its silky sweet “dressing” of whipped cream, lots of soft mini marshmallows, and an abundance of juicy, colorful fruit, the Ambrosia Salad may be a little different from some of the other salads you are used to seeing at meals and parties, like this Frog’s Eye Salad, but I promise you it is so good… if not better! This classic salad has been a staple for decades (maybe your grandmother made it for you?) and the version I’m sharing today is made with a simple dressing that you can scratch off and it only takes 10 minutes to assemble!
1 bag of mini marshmallows
1/2 cup of sour cream
8 oz. of cold whip
A 1 lb. can of fruit cocktail
1 (2 lb.) canned mandarin
Extra maraschino cherries, cut in half, to taste.
1/2 cup of coconut
1/2 cup of nuts
How to do it:
Mix well. Refrigerate overnight. Make a large, family-size bowl.
