Banana bread with chocolate – forget the double chocolate banana bread, we are making triple chocolate banana bread! Deliciously decadent and easy to make, it’s so good that you’re going to start buying more bananas to ripen in order to do this!
1 1/2 cups of flour
1/2 cup of cocoa powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 cup of butter
1/4 cup of brown sugar
1/2 cup of white sugar
4 small bananas mashed (about 1 1/3 cups)
1/2 cup of chocolate chips
1/4 cup half and half
2 tablespoons of packed brown sugar
1 teaspoon of butter
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
6 tablespoons of chocolate chips
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease and flour a 9×5 bread pan.
Combine flour, cocoa powder, baking soda and baking powder in a large bowl. Set aside.
Cream butter and sugar together until fluffy. Add the eggs and bananas. Add banana mixture and chocolate chips to flour mixture. Stir only until combined.
Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
Heat half and half and the brown sugar over medium heat until the brown sugar has dissolved and small bubbles begin to form on the edges. Add the vanilla and butter until it melts and turn off the heat. Add the chocolate chips and do not stir, let them stand for 2 to 3 minutes.
Beat the chocolate chunks until smooth. Cool completely and sprinkle over the bread.
