CHURRO CHEESECAKE BARS

The holiday baking season is in full swing at my house. I have several favorite Christmas flavors, but when I want my house to smell like Christmas, anything with cinnamon sugar tops the list! Not only do these Churro cheese bars make your house smell amazing, they are absolutely delicious!

They are a perfect combination of two wonderful desserts: churros and cheesecake. Really, it’s so amazing! Every bite melts in your mouth deliciously.

Ingredients

1/2 cup of sugar
2 tablespoons of ground cinnamon
2 8oz packs cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup of sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla
Two 8-ounce cans of Pillsbury crescent rolls.

Instructions

Combine 1/2 cup of sugar and 2 tablespoons of cinnamon in a small bowl. Set aside.

Beat cream cheese until smooth. Add the sugar, egg and vanilla and beat until smooth and creamy. Set aside.

Spray a 9×13″ skillet with nonstick spray, then sprinkle half of the sugar-cinnamon mixture evenly on the bottom of the skillet.

Roll out the dough on a piece of lightly floured wax paper and press all the seams together. Carefully place it in the pan over the cinnamon sugar. Press the edges of the mold.

Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the dough. Unroll the second can of dough and spread it in the same way as the first can. Place it over the filling.

Sprinkle the remaining cinnamon sugar over the dough. Bake at 350° for about 30 minutes or until lightly browned.

Notes on the recipe

If you can find the unperforated crescent dough sheets, you don’t have to pinch the seams.
