Sullivan and Sampson may be brothers, but they definitely have very different outlooks when it comes to water activities.
“Sullivan is an avid swimmer in our pool and out in the nearby lakes and rivers,” Theresa Milke, the dogs’ mom, told The Dodo. “He loves to chase ducks and beavers that are swimming in the water. Sampson, however, just isn’t a fan of water in general, he will go in a lake or river but only up to his chest and only if his paws will touch bottom. He will get on a pool float and float around in our pool but that’s about it.”
Regardless of their different viewpoints, though, they can definitely agree on one thing — neither of them is a big fan of bath time.
Even though Sullivan loves swimming, he hates baths just as much as Sampson does, and they’re always trying to find ways to get out of having to take them.
“I have no idea why it is that they aren’t fans of bath time, probably just because they like to be dirty,” Milke said.
If the dogs realize their mom is getting ready to give them a bath, they’ll plant themselves firmly on a bed or couch and absolutely refuse to move. Sometimes, though, they realize too late and end up trapped in the bathroom as their mom runs the water, and when that happens, they have to come up with more creative ways to hide.
One day, both dogs were locked in the bathroom with Mom as she readied their bath. When she was finally ready for them to get into the tub, she turned around — and discovered them both hiding in the funniest spot.
