1.5kg (3.3 lb) of chicken sticks
1 cup BBQ sauce
½ cup of honey
2 tablespoons of hot sauce
2 tablespoons of cornstarch
3 tablespoons of water
You can make this recipe gluten-free by using gluten-free variants of barbecue sauce, corn starch and hot sauce.
In a bowl, mix the BBQ sauce, honey and hot sauce.
In a slow cooker, add the chicken thighs and pour the honey barbecue marinade over them.
Simmer for 6-8 hours.
Remove chicken from slow cooker.
In a small bowl, combine the cornstarch with the water until a paste is formed.
Slowly mix cornstarch mixture with marinade.
Return the chicken to the slow cooker and cook over high heat for 15 minutes or until thickened.
Optional: Dip the chicken in the sauce and place it under the grill to caramelize it.
