The best lasagna
My mother’s famous lasagna recipe is without a doubt the best lasagna I’ve ever tasted. She learned her ways from her Italian friends when she lived in New York City, adjusting the recipe over the years to perfect it… and every person who tastes her recipe comes back for seconds, thirds and leftovers for the next day!
Look at that cheese!
1 pound of ground beef
1 bottle of Ragu® Traditional Old World Style Sauce
1 package (15 oz.) part-skim Ricotta cheese
2 cups of grated and partially skimmed mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese, divided
12 lasagna noodles, cooked and drained.
Preheat the oven to 375°F. Brown ground beef in a 12-inch skillet; drain. Add sauce and heat.
Combine ricotta cheese, mozzarella cheese, 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese, and eggs in a large bowl; set aside.
Spread 1 cup meat sauce evenly in a 13 x 9-inch baking dish. Layer 4 lasagna noodles, then 1 cup meat sauce and 1/2 ricotta cheese mixture; repeat. Top with remaining 4 noodles and sauce. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove foil and sprinkle with remaining 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese. Bake uncovered for 5 more minutes. Let stand 10 minutes before serving.
